How old do I need to be to rent a vehicle?

To rent a vehicle anywhere in Australia, you must be at least 21 years of age and have held a full driving license for a minimum of one year. Drivers between the ages of 21 and 24 are restricted to hiring Economy, Mini, Compact, Standard, and Intermediate vehicles.

Is loss and damage cover included?

Standard loss and damage cover is included, and liability applies depending on vehicle type, driver and circumstances. Details are explained in rental information and terms and conditions.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel, please give us plenty of notice. A cancellation fee equivalent to one day's rental at the standard daily rate applies if you are a no-show, or if you cancel within two hours of your scheduled collection time.

What type of vehicle do I need for Cape York?

We recommend a 4WD for Cape York travel. The Telegraph Road and many tracks throughout the peninsula are unsealed and can be challenging, particularly after rain. Our fleet includes 4x4 station wagons and mine-spec 4WDs suited to remote and rugged conditions.

Can I pick up in Cairns and drop off somewhere else?

Yes. We offer one-way hire across our branches so you can pick up from our Cairns depot and drop off in Townsville or Mount Isa without retracing your route.

Do you offer airport pickup in Cairns?
